Slavery

The true believers of God are those people who lend a helping hand to the poor and destitute, to orphans, to travellers and free slaves.

Free slaves? Do we have slaves today?

Yes, we do.

I recently read an article that said slavery is alive and well in this day and age. Apparently, there is a big problem wi in the tomato industry where slave labour is used. These are people who come to the country illegally and are forced to work for food and water only. There are also a lot of women who are hired and brought to the country as nannies, but once they get here their passports are taken away and they are forced into prostitution with the threat of killing their families back home if they try to escape......the stories go on.

Let us all think about how lucky we are that we are free. Every human being born in this day and age is born free. Unfortunately, there are unscrupulous people who are still into slavery.

Let us say a prayer that God help all those people who are caught in slavery today. May God help them out of the horrible situation they are in and once again be free people. Amen.
